This Week @ Catalyst

Oct 6th, 2009 | By Skye Jethani | Category: Church, Leadership

I’m in Atlanta this week for the Catalyst Conference. The blog I manage for Leadership journal, Out of Ur, is one of the official blog sites for the event. I’ll be posting regularly on the site, as will Marshall Shelley, Kevin Miller, and Drew Dyck. You can keep track of what’s happening at OutofUr.com.

If you’re at Catalyst, let me know. It’d be nice to see some friends and interact with Leadership subscribers and Urbanites.

  1. Skye,
would love to grab a few minutes with you if possible. You can email me at chrisg@calvaryjupiter.com
    thanks!!

  2. Skye,
I just finished your book, which I enjoyed. But then I googled your name and saw you were at Catalyst.
    That raises a question:
Isn’t the scene pretty much the same as the one you walked out of at the opening of Divine Commodity?
If not, what’s different about Catalyst?

  3. Hey Trevor,

I understand you’re concern. I hope you read the epilogue of The Divine Commodity as well. There you’ll see that after leaving the event I also returned with a new understanding. My purposes for being at Catalyst are multiple. First, it’s part of my job as the managing editor of Catalyst Leadership. I was responsible for hosting some of the labs. Second, it’s a significant event for networking with other church leaders, fostering relationships, and connecting with Leadership readers and contributors. Finally, there are some really good things about Catalyst (and virtually every ministry conference). I’ve learned better how to accept what is good, leave behind what is disturbing, and keep my focus where it should be.

    Skye
